About the IAFSS Symposium
The International Association for Fire Safety Science (IAFSS) is delighted to announce that the 14th International Symposium on Fire Safety Science will be held from 23-27 Oct., 2023, in Tsukuba, Japan. Since its formation in 1985, IAFSS has organized International Symposium on Fire Safety Science every three years, trying to share knowledge and networking among the fire safety science and engineering community.
International Symposium on Fire Safety Science is the premier fire safety science meeting in the world. The program will have parallel sessions for the presentation of fully peer-reviewed papers and posters highlighting recent work. Meanwhile, the world’s top fire science researchers will deliver lectures over the five days of the symposium. In addition to the technical sessions, numerous social activities are planned to provide informal meetings and networking opportunities for colleagues and friends.
The topic areas of the papers presented at the symposium include material flammability, toxicity, and related testing methods, fire spread, enclosure fire dynamics, fire dynamics, fire suppression, structure in fire, wildland fires and other large outdoor fires, evacuation and human behavior, fire risk analysis and fire safety design, and emerging issues and special applications.
